2017/18 Community Asset Grants open 30 August

$60,000 ALLOCATED Up to $3,000 each This is the only round for the 2017/18 financial year Community Groups from within the Council area are encouraged to apply for small grants to assist in local asset development. Application forms and Guidelines are available from Council Offices in Clare, Riverton and Saddleworth or here from 30 August , 2017. Rates Letter Error

August 29, 2017 An apology has been sent out to hundreds of Clare & Gilbert Valleys ratepayers who received a letter of demand of non-payment of rates in error. The letter, dated August 22, was sent out by Dun & Bradstreet, and in no way was a result of any actions by the Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council. “Council would like to reassure ratepayers who received this letter that no further action will be taken as a result of this communication from Dun & Bradstreet,” Council Acting CEO John Coombe OAM said. “No credit ratings will be affected and Dun & Bradstreet has apologised for any inconvenience and distress caused.” John Coombe, Acting Chief Executive Officer

Burning Conditions - Outside Fire Danger Season

At the Council meeting held on 15th May 2017, Council approved conditions for burning outside of the Fire Danger Season under the Environment Protection (Air Quality) Policy 2016. This policy restricts burning in gazetted townships as defined in the Local Government Act 1999

Rhynie Waste Transfer Site - Closure

The Rhynie Waste Transfer Site is currently closed -until further notice Council is unable to receive any waste on the subject land.
