Wasps & Pests

Bees on Public Land

Should you experience any problems with the presence of bee swarms in street trees, parks, or Council Infrastructure, Contact Council on (08) 8842 6400 so we can arrange for a pest controller to attend the site.

Please note that bee swarms on private property are the responsibility of the landholder.

European Wasps

Council will arrange for the destruction of European Wasp nests reported by members of the public (whether on public or private land). People who find a nest should contact the Council on (08) 8842 6400 and provide the following details:

  • Name
  • Contact Number
  • Address of the European Wasp nest
  • Directions to the nest on the property

It should be noted that Council are unable to assist in the locating of the nest, and can only act on reports once the nest has been located (as European Wasps can travel up to 500 meters in search of food).
